#MomTime / Hair Care For Kids Featuring SoCozy!

SoCozy Hair Care for Kids

Sorry for such a late Sunday post. It's been a hectic week with a sad ending, but if you want to know, check out my Instagram. But I'm here to show something a little different... Let's check out what that is... Cue text written last week!

So here's something that I've wanted to attempt to review for some time now; products for the kids! SoCozy kindly sent me this set of products, the Cinch 2-in-1 Shampoo+Wash, Cinch Super Hydrating Conditioner and Behave Medium Hold Styling Mousse. So how did the products fare, not only by my standards, but by my youngest's? Let's find out!

So to start, Rosalie is the only one that tried out the products. I had Izzy use it too, however, her super sensitive skin came back to haunt us and she appears to have been allergic to either the shampoo or conditioner. I'm not sure which one, but I had her wash her hair again with her usual shampoo and her scalp and skin around her hairline stopped itching. Bummer for her, but more product for Rosalie!

So now let's check out the products individually. As always, I'll provide the ingredients and then after that, I'll tell you how both Rosalie and I felt about the products. Because let's be honest, I had to try these a day myself in order to have an opinion.
Starting with the SoCozy Cinch 2-in-1 Shampoo+Wash.* Below are the ingredients (as listed on CosDNA):
Water, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Glycerin, Polyquaternium-7, Amodimethicone, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Cetrimonium Chloride, Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Silk Amino Acids, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Fragrance, Caprylyl Glycol, Polyquaternium-10, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract, Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Trideceth-12, Acrylates Crosspolymer-4, Citric Acid
This wash is meant to be used as either a shampoo or body wash, however I personally think its a better body wash. Now, I do think its works for virgin hair such as Rosalie's. However, for anything else, it's a big flat nope. So in actuality, it wouldn't have worked well for Izzy as her hair has been chemically treated. The scent is fruity and not offensive in any way. Rosalie loved the scent and so did I.

Next is the So Cozy Cinch Super Hydrating Conditioner. Below are the ingredients (as listed on CosDNA):
Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Behentrimonium Chloride, Cetyl Ester, Jojoba Esters, Cetrimonium Chloride, Polyquaternium-7, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Ceteareth-20, Polyquaternium-11, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Polyquaternium-37, Fragrance, Caprylyl Glycol, Methylisothiazolinone, Vaccinium Myrtillus (Bilberry) Fruit Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Hexylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Ammonium Hydroxide, Citric Acid, Limonene
So the conditioner... It performs well. Definitely makes the hair feel soft and bouncy. But the scent is less to be desired. It says the scent is Berry Whip and I can tell the scent they were trying for, but it really smells like kids medicine. Specifically kids medicine that was meant to smell like berry yogurt and just smells chalky. Rosalie said sunscreen, but I don't know what sunscreen she's sniffing. But it does leave hair soft, hydrated and bouncy!

And lastly is the SoCozy Behave Medium Hold Styling Mousse. Below are the ingredients (as listed on CosDNA):
Water, Polyquaternium-11, Polysorbate 20, Panthenol, Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Hair Keratin, Soy Amino Acids, Glycerin, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus (Bilberry) Fruit Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, PVP, Polyquaternium-10, Cinnamidopropyltrimonium Chloride, Cetrimonium Chloride, Cetrimonium Bromide, Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Propoxytetramethyl Piperidinyl Dimethicone, PEG-10 Dimethicone, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, Caprylyl Glycol, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Tocopheryl Acetate, Fragrance, Trideceth-6, C11-15 Pareth-7
And lastly, here's a product both Rosalie and I can get behind. As you know, Rosalie has curly hair and mousse helps her hair maintain her curls without it being frizzy. This is a product that Rosalie uses almost every day. She said she'd 100% buy this after she uses this bottle. And I agree! It has good hold without getting crispy, is lightweight and smells nice!

Overall, these are nice, gentle products. I would say that you may want to check out one of the other conditioners they have, but the shampoo/wash works and smells great. However if your child has sensitive skin, you may want to try out their Sensitive range.
